Sweepie & Friends

This set is really called "Lily and Friends" but Lily reminds me so much of my little niece Sweepie. Sweepie loves to wear pink and even got a pink dressy coat and matching pink hat and mitten set for Christmas. I colored the image with colored pencils and Goo-Gone (my favorite method of coloring), and added some sparkle with pink glitter EP and different colors of stickles. Again I shaded the background with chalks and a cotton ball.

Fall Folliage

I am a season behind on this one, but I only got a chance to play with this set yesterday. The background is made with ink and cotton balls and the leaves are heat embossed with clear EP.

Echoes of Thanks

It's nice to have a little break to play. This is for SCS Color Challenge 198. The task was to use Orchid Opulence, Cameo Coral, and So Saffron all on the same card. I used my new SU preview set Echoes of Kindness for this. I colored the image with colored pencils and Goo-Gone then went over the edges with chalk on a cotton ball.

Christmas Snow

The background of the main image was made using Tim Holtz's alcohol inks, metallic ink, and mixative on glossy paper. I dripped all the inks and mixative on a craft sheet and then smooshed and swirled glossy paper on top of it. The scarf is from a cuttlebug Disney die and folder

Silver Bells

The semester is over for me and so it is time for some fun. I decided to try the 3D stamping technique and it worked really well with this stamp. I went over the bells with a versamarker and then used glittered EP. The snowflake is from a small Dollar Tree ornament. I find a lot neat little things to use as embellishments at Dollar Tree.

Peaceful Night

I did so well on my my exam Thursday that I thought I would take the night off from studying and play! I decided to make another Christmas card but I stole the sketch from Julee Tillman. This was fun but it took a while. The angels are punched from silver cardstock then covered with platinum Stickles. I also used Stickles on the Cuttlebug background to make it look like stars. I have another Christmas card that I started but I need to spend most of the weekend studying so I don't know if I can post it before next weekend.

A Christmas Card

So I did it! I made a Christmas card! This will probably be the only one I make this year because I should have been studying for my exams.

Sunny Thank You

While everyone else is making Christmas cards I am making cards for other occasions. Maybe I will make a Christmas card this year but I couldn't give it to anyone because my friends and family would be jealous that they didn't get one.

Mojo 62 Birthday

Just a quick birthday card for a friend. I used Julee Tilman's Mojo week 62 sketch and retired SU stamps. The leaf and flowers are from Dollar Tree punches.

Autumn Silhouette

So I had this idea for a card whirling around in my head for about a week now and once I saw the Color Throw Down picks for Week 20 here, I had to get this card out of my head! It didn't take me too long to make so my study schedule wasn't interrupted too much

Pretty in Chocolate Onesie

Wow, I made 2 cards on 2 consecutive days during the semester! Well if I don't do well on my next exam we will all know why. I made this card because my sister reminded me that a friend of ours is having a baby girl soon. The colors for the shower are brown and pink.
Well April Kitty is giving me that "look" again so I better get back to studying. I told April that if I study real hard to become a RN and get a good job I would buy better tasting cat food and more treats.

Silver Blossom Bride

I took a little break from studying to make this card for my friend's bridal shower. I had been thinking about the card all week and each day I thought of a new element to add to it. I am very pleased with it.

Pack it in time

Well it's time for me to pack up my stamping stuff and make room for my nursing books and study materials. Waaaaahhh!!! This may be the last card I make until Winter break. Maybe I will be able to sneak in a few more, but with my study load it is not likely.

This card is using the Anni-VERVE-sary sketch #10 and it is for my cousin's husband's birthday. I think she reads my blog but hopefully he is not looking over her shoulder to see this until after he gets it in the mail. I was glad to try out my stamps from Verve. I just love the designs! I am looking forward to getting some from the new release but probably won't until close to Winter break or in May after graduation.

Well, thank you all for checking out my cards. I may do short little ramblings here and there. April Kitty also thanks you all for kind comments you have given her too. If she could type I am sure she would post many more photos of herself.

God Bless!

Elizabeth =)

Diva Kitty

Wow, all those comments on how beautiful my cat is was unexpected! Thanks for the comments and April thanks you too. Infact, since reading the comments to her she has been strutting around like she thinks she's all that! Now she wants my blog to be about her instead of my stamping. Well I told her she should learn to type and create her own blog. That would be very interesting if she could; I could probably get rich off her!

Well anyway, thanks for all the comments on my cards and my cat. Maybe every once in a while I put up a new picture of her and updates on her life of sleeping, eating, sunning and running away from Sweepie.

Psalm 37:4

I got to play with my new stamps from Verve this evening despite April. This is my first time using clear stamps and it was just as easy as rubber. This is a combination of 3 challenges: Anni-Verve-sary sketch challenge, Color Throw Down Week 6, and Bible Verses 2008.

Happy Mail Day!

My new stamp sets from Verve are here!

Awwwe, poor April Kitty looks so sad! She knows that I will be playing with these more than her tonight.

Oooooh, April Kitty looks mad! I think I better hide my new Verve stamps before she goes off in a jealous rage!

Uh-oh, April Kitty very mad! I think I better play with her before playing with my stamps tonight!

Actually, April is a very sweet old cat, she just likes to sit in my lap when I'm at the craft table, which makes stamping a bit difficult.

Tulip Sympathy

Sympathy cards are so hard for me. I couldn't come up with an original idea so I CASEd this one.

Sweepie's card

My 16 month old niece, whom I call Sweepie, really liked the card I made for her grandma's birthday. She kept kissing the hedgehog! I was trying to work on another card for a sketch challenge when she pulled out some paper and grabbed the hedgehog stamp. She wanted to make a card for her grandma too! So using the scraps of paper she pulled out (yes, she did choose the paper all by herself) I helped her make a little card. She let me choose the sketch and help inking the stamp. She had a little help from me using the glue stick and putting the pieces together. When we were done she picked up a pink button from the table and handed it to me. She wanted to use it as an embelishment. I think she has got a lot of card making talent already!

Birthday Hedgehog

This will be for my sister who's birthday is later in the month. I am safe posting it now because she never reads my blog, nor any other blogs. The sketch is by Julee Tilman for the OCC sketch challenge.

Serene Bunny

Amethyst Sympathy

Very different from all of the other sympathy cards I have made. I hope the colors aren't too bright for the occasion.

Mojo Birthday

I used the colors from Color Throw Down #1 with the Mojo Week 48 sketch. I love all of Julee's sketch challenges, but I don't think I like the way this one turned out. It could be that it is too "pink" for my taste. I think my dislike is mostly because of my arch nemesis Sage Shadow.

Simple Thanks 2

Another simple thank you card made with out stamps or ink. I so love my cuttlebug!

Happy Birthday CASE

This one is a CASE of this card by Artystamper and I used the colors from SCS CC176

Simple Thanks

I will probably make a few more just like this one but in different colors ahead of time to give to my professors and clinical instructors.

Simple Harmony

Very simple card. In about 2 weeks or less I will be putting all my stamping stuff away and getting out all my books and supplies for my final year of nursing school. So as the time grows closer my cards may be more simpler.

Delight in Life Shadow Box

This was made with non-SU paper. The paper was a cheap brand from a well-known craft store chain. As you can see by the tears on the corner, the paper doesn't hold up very well when scoring and folding. Whether using SU, PTI, local craft store, etc cardstock, it is important that you choose a high quality paper that has a good thinkness to it so your projects will not fall apart.

Baby Girl Onesie

Baby Boy Onesie

Give Thanks

My circle nestabilities arrived in the mail yesterday from www.cutathome.com and I was so excited to use them today! This card is a combination of 3 challenges: Mojo Week 46 sketch challenge, Color Throw Down Week 2, and Devine Design 2008 Bible Verse Challenge.

This week's SCS Featured Stamper is Stephanie Hargis. I participated in the challenge by CASing a card in her SCS gallery. I used the colors from this week's SCS color challenge

Art

I am loving the Mojo Monday sketch challenges. This is for week 45.

For the Bride

This was for another sketch challenge on SCS and I needed to make a card for a friend who is getting married next month.

This is the same card as above but I added more of the Ruby Red layers. I think it looks better with the added layers.

Be Still

This card is for the SCS FS74 challenge. This is another card that has a meaning for me that I didn't intend as I was making it. There are two Bible verses in this card: Ecclesiastes 3:1 "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven," and Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God." To sum it up, God has a plan and a purpose for me and that He is bringing about according to His perfect timing. What He has planned will occur in His time which will most likely be longer or shorter than I would like. However I am to wait patiently and be ready while always being aware that He is Lord in my life and in control.

Mon Amie

This card was really a lot of work! I saw a sketch challenge that that looked interesting and I combined it with another challenge from SCS. Since it may be posted on a very talented person's blog with other phenomenal artist cards I had to make this one look really good! Here is the link for the sketch challenge.
