Thanks A Latte

I had some time today to make this coffee-themed card following a couple of card making challenges.  This week's Color Throwdown #377 uses kraft, yellow, and grey.

Preserved Apples

This is the 5th card I have made for the SCS Dare To Get Dirty 2012 challenges.  I had a blast playing along and wish I could have done all 37 challenges but work and real life get in the way of my creativity =-)  The colors are from the Color Throw Down 161 challenge.  I used the new Perfectly Preserved stamps and matching Cannery Framelits from the current SU mini catalog.  The pearls are colored with Sharpie markers to coordinate with the colors in the card.  For details on the DTGD12 challenges this card is for SCS Fan Club members may click on the codes below.

Cutie Patootie Birthday

This card is a combination of 3 challenges:  SCS Sketch 383, Color Throwdown 187, and SCS Clean & Simple 167.  I am so behind on the list of birthday cards I need to make.  The combination of these 3 challenges instantly formed this card in my mind.  The design of this card is perfect for a little boy, however I don't have any little boys in mind who have birthdays coming up in the next couple of months.  My youngest niece, Little Munchkin, will be turning 2 early next month so I may make a card like this for her using more girly colors.

One note about this sketch, I love it!  It noticed that it is similar to other sketches that I have used and I love all the layering of colors.

Our Help, Psalm 124:8

Psalm 124:8 is one of the Bible verses I turn to when I face trials or discouragements. It reminds me that God is the Creator and He is always available to help me.  Since God created the heavens and the earth, my problems are very small tasks for Him.  I was reminded of this in my weekly Waterlilyz table recently as we read Genesis 1.  The verse that spoke to me most and a few other ladies was Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."  I'm so amazed that God, the Creator of heaven and earth, loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross and be resurrected to redeem us from sin and death.  Because of God's great love, He wants to be invited into every aspect of our lives and wants us to know that we are never alone as He is always with us!

This card was made using the sketch from ODBDSLC83 Sketch Challenge and the colors are from Color Throwdown 166.  I don't have Baja Breeze ink or paper at the moment so I substituted with my stash of Soft Sky.   I distressed the edges of the DP and sponged it with Crumb Cake ink.  The flower is made using SU's Triple Treat Flower, Vanilla Hodge Podge Hardware, and punches.  The bow came out quite puffy so when it comes time to mail this card off to someone I'm going to have to use a larger padded envelope and extra postage.

Big Bloom Birthday

This is just a fun birthday card I made with no person in mind. I try to keep a stash of cards like these on hand for any last minute cards I need to think out. I dug out an old set SU set that I haven't used in almost 2 years. The colors are from Color Throw Down 30.

So I had this idea for a card whirling around in my head for about a week now and once I saw the Color Throw Down picks for Week 20 here, I had to get this card out of my head! It didn't take me too long to make so my study schedule wasn't interrupted too much

Psalm 37:4

I got to play with my new stamps from Verve this evening despite April. This is my first time using clear stamps and it was just as easy as rubber. This is a combination of 3 challenges: Anni-Verve-sary sketch challenge, Color Throw Down Week 6, and Bible Verses 2008.

Mojo Birthday

I used the colors from Color Throw Down #1 with the Mojo Week 48 sketch. I love all of Julee's sketch challenges, but I don't think I like the way this one turned out. It could be that it is too "pink" for my taste. I think my dislike is mostly because of my arch nemesis Sage Shadow.

Give Thanks
